We hope you all are enjoying the fall.  This summer was very busy for the Carolina Chiropractors’ board and staff.  Most notably, the NC legislature was considering House Bill 415, a measure intended to “…Update Various Laws Of The Practice And Licensure Of Chiropractic”–and after careful reading we found that it was unacceptable to us and our mission of advocacy in its original form.

our mission of advocacy in its original form.

Our initial attempts to reach out and work with the BOE to make changes that we felt were reasonable, failed when the BOE stood firm and refused to negotiate in a favorable manner. Through the hard work of our attorney Vance Kinlaw, lobbyist Logan Martin, and board member Patrick Gallagher, DC, we were very grateful when the NC Senate heard our concerns and agreed to make the changes we were requesting.

Because of our tenacity and spirited pursuit of these ends, there have been stressful moments both during and since between Carolina Chiropractors and the BOE. It is with all sincerity that we hope this stress has come to an end, and perhaps, we have all emerged having learned something. The BOE looks after the NC public and themselves–but Carolina Chiropractors will always look after practicing DC’s to be sure the playing field is level.

Happy Fall For All!
